Carry on Camping - Lydford Gorge

Lydford Gorge is to be the venue for a re-scheduled camping event on Saturday July 21st and 22nd.

Unfortunately due to high winds and driving rain the event had to be cancelled in mid June however all the disappointed people, in true British spirit, who had been looking forward to this event, are willing to give it another go in July.

Fay Langston, Visitor Services Officer at Lydford Gorge said ‘It was so disappointing to have to cancel this event last time both for the families and for the staff involved in the organising of the weekend. This time around we are hoping for better weather and it should be great fun and is extremely good value at £10 per person. Providing the weather is kinder to us than last time this should be a fantastic family bonding experience for everyone led by our National Trust ranger team. The families will be able to explore through the wonderful gorge to see the White Lady waterfall and Devil's Cauldron. Create their own Withy Lanterns and learn how to light a fire without matches. Cook over a campfire and discover and learn about our beautiful moths and night time animals.’

If you are interested in taking part there are still a few places left so please call Fay Langston. Visitors Services Officer for more details and booking information.
